Getting to Royal Exhibition Building

AutoClassica 2026 takes place at the Melbourne Royal Exhibition Building – 9 Nicholson St, Carlton VIC 3053

The Royal Exhibition Building is centrally located in Carlton Gardens and is easily accessible by public transport, including train, tram, and bus services, as well as by taxi or rideshare.

Coming by Train

Parliament Station is the closest major train station to the Royal Exhibition Building. From the station, it’s a short walk through Carlton Gardens to reach the venue.

Trains arrive frequently, with services running every 15–20 minutes on most lines.

Coming by Tram

Trams stop directly outside the Royal Exhibition Building, making it one of the easiest ways to arrive. Services run frequently throughout the day.

Routes 86 and 96 travel along Nicholson Street and stop directly outside the venue. These routes connect the northern suburbs with the CBD and surrounding inner-city areas.

Additional services along Victoria Parade and Gertrude Street are also within easy walking distance of the Royal Exhibition Building.

Taxis & Rideshare

Taxi ranks are available in the streets surrounding the Royal Exhibition Building, making it easy to arrive or depart by cab. You’ll also find taxi and rideshare pick-up and drop-off points nearby, including along Nicholson Street and Victoria Parade, with convenient access to the CBD and inner-city areas.

Rideshare services such as Uber, Ola and DiDi also operate throughout Melbourne and can drop off and pick up at the Convention Centre.
